In 1997 research was being conducted to develop a bigger ball to slow down the game. The
result was the Rally Ball, which has 15% more visibility and makes 25% longer rallies. It
has already been tested in the Davis Cup. International Tennis Federation's Andrew Coe
says, "A larger ball gives recreational tennis players greater ability to enjoy the
game, because it allows them to spend more time playing tennis and less time picking up
balls from the court."
